How to Remove Leftover Entries on IE8
- 1). Launch IE8. Click the "Tools" tab at the main menu near the top of the window.
- 2). Press the "Delete" menu button located under the "Browsing History" category.
- 3). Put a check mark in the box next to the "Form Data" item. Click the "Delete" button on the window. All the leftover AutoComplete entries should be cleared.
- 4). Click "OK" to close the window. Perform this task depending on your IE8 usage frequency. If you are a heavy Internet user or share the computer with someone else, consider deleting the Web entries daily.
- 1). Launch IE8. Click the "Tools" menu at the top of the window.
- 2). Choose "Internet Options" from the drop-down list.
- 3). Click the "Content" tab from the pop-up window to bring up a dialog page.
- 4). Press the "Settings" button near the bottom of the dialog page. This will bring you to the AutoComplete's settings page.
- 5). Untick all the boxes that has a check mark in it. We want to disable all the AutoComplete tasks in IE8, including the default ones for best privacy protection. Disabling all the option will also save some space and memory on your computer. However, it can make your search more difficult and time consuming as the browser cannot enter the suggestions for you.
- 6). Click the "Delete AutoComplete history..." button at the page bottom. All the previously saved entry suggestions is now deleted.
- 7). Click "OK" to exit the AutoComplete's settings page. From now and on, all your entries will not be stored in the IE8 browser registry, including in the address bar.
