How to Start Windows XP When Safe Mode Doesn't Work
- 1). Shut down the computer and let it sit idle for a few minutes. When shutting down the computer it is good to let all of the systems and pieces of hardware rest for a few minutes. Turning the computer right back on can actually damage the system.
- 2). Press the "Power" button on the computer. The actual location for this button is going to vary; typically it is in the middle of the computer tower or in the corner of the laptop.
- 3). Wait for the operating system to load. If the computer did not shut down properly a screen appears asking how you want to boot the computer.
- 4). Press the directional arrow keys down and select "restart" Windows XP normal.
- 5). Allow the operating system to fully load on your computer. Depending on how much content you have installed on the system this process can take a few minutes to complete. Once Windows XP has finished loading you can begin running your programs.
