How to Manually Select Wireless

    • 1). Left-click one of the Internet icons in the task bar at the bottom-right of your screen and select "Connect or Disconnect" if you are using Windows XP or Windows Vista. If using Windows 7, right-click on one of the icons. The icon looks like either five bars that are in order of shortest to tallest or two small computer screens. After clicking, the "Connect to a Network" dialog box will open in each of these operating systems.

    • 2). Click the "Refresh" button on the right side of the window. A list of all available networks will populate the list.

    • 3). Click on one of the networks in the list. The network with the most green bars is the one that has the best connection.

    • 4). Click "Connect." You now have manually selected a wireless network.
