How to Design a Conference Poster
- 1). Go to the Window's Start Menu and click "All Programs." Scroll down and click on "Accessories." Select "Paint," which will open up an untitled document where you can create the design for your conference poster.
- 2). Choose "Image" and "Attributes" to plug in the width and height requirement for your poster. Create a document that will be the same size as the paper the conference poster will be printed on. Choose the "Text" tool to insert text.
- 3). Add images such as photographs or clip art by opening the images individually in Window's Live Photo Gallery. Right-click on the images and click "Copy."
- 4). Return to Paint, select "Edit" and then "Paste" your photo in the document. Position your image in document. Use "Fill With Color" to fill in objects or to change your background color.
- 1). Open ArtRage and go to "File." Choose "New Painting" to begin a new document where you can design your conference poster.
- 2). Select "New Painting" and plug in the width, height and resolution of your document. You can also choose a preset size for your document. For a print-quality conference poster, plug in at least 300 pixels per inch for your resolution.
- 3). Choose from various canvas types, such as "Basic Paper."
- 4). Use layers to place different elements, which includes photos, text and graphics, in their own layers. This program also allows you to bring in a reference, such as a photo, to help guide you as you work. It also has a tracing option as well as stencils. A variety of tools including "Chalks" and "Oil Paint," which can be adjusted in intensity.
- 1). Go to "File" and click "New" to create a new document.
- 2). Create the settings for your conference poster's design by choosing a "Background Type" that conforms best to your intended design. Add "Dimensions" for your poster and change the "Resolution" to 300 pixels.
- 3). Go to "Layer" then "New" to bring in or create elements, photos, text and graphics.
- 4). Use the "Move" tool to relocate text and graphics.
- 5). Use "Filters" and image adjustments to refine you image and add effects to the new layers.
- 6). Use the "Text" tool on the toolbar to add text.
- 7). Go to "File" and "Save As" to save your conference poster as a high-resolution jpg.
